According to a company spokesperson at the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro briefing on Friday, Google will not be launching the Pixel Watch and Pixel tablets in India anytime soon. However, the search giant will go ahead with just one variant for each of its two recent smartphone launches.

Google on October 6 unveiled the Pixel Watch and tablet alongside its premium flagship smartphones. The company did not reveal much details about its decision to drop the smartwatch and tablet in India.

The built-in VPN feature that is going to be a part of the Pixel 7 series will also not be available for Indian buyers. Google said that for the feature to be released in India, there were compliance issues that need to be addressed first.

Google introduced its flagship phones in the form of Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro after a gap of two years. brought it Pixel 6a for India In July.

Both the phones, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, only come in a single variant. The Pixel 7 has an 8GB model while the Pixel 7 Pro only has a 12GB RAM variant, both backed by 128GB of internal storage and no expandable option. When asked about this, Google said that it may evaluate bringing a higher version in the future.

Google said it is serious about the Indian market as critics questioned its long absence from the smartphone segment.

Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, Tensor G2 . make use of Chipset with Titan M2 for protection, as well as Android 13 out-of-the-box. Five years of security updates are guaranteed.

Pixel 7 has a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate. In optics, it sports a 50MP main lens backed by a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. Pixel 7 has a 10.8MP selfie camera. The Pixel 7 packs a 4,270mAh battery.

Google Pixel 7 Pro uses a 6.7-inch display with 120Hz refresh rate. There are triple rear lenses: a 50MP main lens, a 48MP telephoto sensor, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. The selfie lens is the same as the Pixel 7. For power, the Pixel 7 Pro has a 4,926mAh cell.

The Google Pixel Watch becomes a key product in the company’s Pixel lineup as it marks the collaboration of Google and Fitbit in smartwatches for the first time.

Having said that, Google has again avoided India this time by not launching the Google Pixel Watch and Tablet in the market.
