New Delhi: Google removed 1,11,493 harmful content in June this year as per the new India IT Rules, 2021. According to Mashable, most of the removed content falls under the category of copyright infringement, with the rest falling under the content category. Other categories such as trademarks, court orders, explicit sexual content, fraud, and others. Within that same time frame, the internet company received 32,717 complaints from citizens of the country about outside content on various Google platforms that they believed to be infringing on their individual or regional legal rights.
Several classifications of complaints can be made.
