Got covid? Top US doctor who tested Omicron+ shares 4 tips for a full recovery

Recently contracted COVID? Rest, get treated, get well. Also, isolate and starve the virus inside your body before it jumps from you to someone else, top infectious disease expert Dr Faheem Yunus, who tested positive for Omicron last week, conducted his first shared experience.

In another tweet he shared, COVID will come to you at a trusted place, through a trusted person.

On Sunday, Yunus informed through a tweet that he has been diagnosed with coronavirus and further added, two weeks ago I developed symptoms and tested positive.

He also shared five lessons learned from that experience. Read here:

take off the mask: Yunus said that despite having thousands of patients in the last two years, he never got infected with the corona virus. However, after attending the ‘Maskless’ family gathering for two days, he immediately contracted COVID-19.

Get vaccinated: Noting that vaccines are effective against the virus, he said, “You know the vaccine + booster did its job when the patient came back to work (with a mask) after 5 days and instead of fighting, posted his story on Twitter.” Was telling Life on a ventilator.”

Treatment: The doctor said that since his symptoms were mild, he did not take steroids, antibiotics or paxlovid, ivermectin, zinc etc as his symptoms were mild.

However, he added, “protocols are different for critical illness”.

Herd immunity is good, herd mentality is not: Yunus has suggested people to think about their mortality. According to him, “it (death) puts everything in perspective and allows us to make brave, meaningful decisions”. “The herd immunity is good, the herd mentality is bad,” he said.

Follow the science: Lastly, Dr. Faheem Yunus advised people to “grow up” and “wear the KN/N 95 mask”. “If COVID still gets to you, you will make a full recovery,” he wrote. Dr Yunus asked people to “follow the science, then follow the heart”.
