Got leftover rice? Try these quick and easy breakfast recipes

Rice is a staple ingredient in many Indian households. It can be used in a variety of dishes from simple dal chawal to quick fried rice, cheela, idli, and many more. Sometimes, despite careful measuring, we end up making extra rice. Since food wastage is not an option, we try a variety of ways to give a tasty twist to leftover rice. Some use it to make desserts like kheer and payasam, while others eat it for breakfast or lunch the next day. If you fall into the latter group, we have two delicious leftover rice recipes for you. Time is short in the morning, which is why we are all on the lookout for recipes that don’t require a lot of effort or time. These recipes are ideal for quick and simple breakfast recipes. Even better, you don’t have to search for exotic ingredients. With the essentials in your kitchen pantry, you can rustle them up in no time. Isn’t it icing on the cake? Yes actually! So, without further ado, let’s start with the recipes. see below.

Here’s how to make a delicious breakfast with leftover rice:

  • First of all take a bowl, put boiled rice in it, add chopped tomatoes, chopped carrots and chopped onions along with chopped green and red chilies. You can use any vegetable you like!
  • Once done, add seasonings like pizza herbs, red chili flakes, chaat masala and salt to taste. Sprinkle some chopped onions on top. Then, take 4 bread slices (without edges) and dip them in water. Squeeze out the excess water and add the slices to the rice mixture.
  • Mix everything well with your hands. Note: You can add more bread slices to increase the thickness.
  • Now keep a pan on the gas and do not turn on the flame. Add a few drops of oil to grease the pan and then keep the flame on till the oil becomes hot. Once done, switch off the flame, take a little portion of the mixture and press it on the pan in a circular motion. Cook on both sides and enjoy!
