PM Modi Rajya Sabha address: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday responded to the discussion on the motion of thanks on the President’s address amidst the attack of opposition parties in the Rajya Sabha. Speaking in the Upper House, the Prime Minister said that his government is committed to provide sustainable solutions to issues in the country through technologies.

Taking a jibe at the opposition, he said the Congress created hurdles in development as India lost six decades while smaller countries progressed. Highlighting the Centre’s ‘Jan Dhan Yojana’, PM Modi said that the BJP has focused on empowerment of all.

Amid continuous sloganeering by the opposition in the House, PM Modi said the Congress had let the country down by indulging only in “symbolism” as their aim was never to find permanent solutions to the country’s problems.

PM Modi highlights ‘Jan Dhan Yojana’

PM said, “We started the Jan Dhan account movement to empower the common people of the country. In the last 9 years, 48 ​​crore Jan Dhan accounts were opened across the country.”

The debate on the motion of thanks on the President’s address in the Rajya Sabha ended on Wednesday. President Draupadi Murmu addressed a joint sitting of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on January 31, the first day of the budget session.

Opposition demands discussion on Hindenburg report

The opposition has criticized the President’s address. He has been regularly demanding a discussion on the Hindenburg Report on Adani Enterprises and other Adani Group companies. Apart from this, he also sought the response of the Prime Minister on this issue.

Earlier on Wednesday, February 8, while replying to the motion of thanks in the Lok Sabha, PM Modi said that the President gave direction to the nation in his visionary address to both the Houses and inspired the country’s ‘women power’.
