Greater Noida’s first electric charging station to open soon; 100 planned – Times of India

NOIDA: Greater Noida’s first charging station for electric vehicles (EVs) is likely to be operational in two weeks, and the city plans to have 100 such stations, officials said on Tuesday. NS Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) stated that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CESL With regard to setting up of charging stations for electric vehicles.
“The first charging station is targeted to be operational in the Alpha commercial belt in the next two weeks,” GNIDA said.
It said that efforts are being made to promote electric vehicles across the country under the National Electric Mobility Scheme and Greater Noida has also joined the campaign.
“On the instructions of GNIDA CEO Narendra BhushanCharging stations for electric vehicles are going to be built at 100 places in Greater Noida. For this, GNIDA has signed an agreement with Convergence Energy Services Limited (a subsidiary of EESL) on Tuesday.”
The MoU was signed in the presence of GNIDA Additional CEO Deep Chandra, in-charge of commerce cell and OSD Naveen Kumar Singh and officials of CESL.
After the first charging station in the Alpha commercial belt, GNIDA and CESL teams will conduct a joint survey to identify the locations of the remaining installations and submit a report in 10 days, GNIDA said.
Narendra Bhushan, CEO, GNIDA said, “These charging stations being built in collaboration with CESL will bring great convenience to the electric vehicle drivers.”
Mahua Acharya, MD & CEO, CESL said that Greater Noida is one of the major industrial cities in Asia with ample opportunities to promote electric vehicles.
