Vivrant Sharma hit the ball here and there in his first outing and so did Mayank Agarwal in his team’s last game of the season. But, ending on a high was not enough for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Cameron Green’s maiden T20 century and Rohit Sharma’s timely half-century powered Mumbai Indians to a resounding victory in their last league match of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League.

heavy support

Rohit & Co took a victory lap to acknowledge the ocean of blue for its support.

Sunrisers continued their experimental policy with the bowling attack, with their batting unit overall being responsible for putting the Mumbai Indians batting under pressure. However, even a total of 200 for five was not enough.

Timely strike: Akash Madhwal struck four times in the death overs to stop Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Green dismantled a weak bowling attack. Had Akash Madhwal not hit four times in the death overs, the task for Green and his teammates could have been more difficult. Accurate bowling from Madhwal meant Sunrisers could not run away from the game despite the openers scoring 140 runs in 14 overs.

As soon as Green punched Bhuvneshwar Kumar straight down the ground for four off the first ball, one felt he was keen to reclaim the No.3 position, which he had lost for a while.

Cruel

After that, Green dominated a hapless SRH attack until he scored his maiden T20 century and finished the game with a swat through mid-wicket. Where Rohit was in his stylish form, Green used the long handle to perfection. He cleared the fence eight times which shows the ferocity of his attack.
