GST collections at all-time high; What does this mean for GDP growth projections?

Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections by central and state governments hit a record high of Rs 1.87 trillion in April, 12% higher than receipts in the same month a year ago due to a jump in sales at the start of the financial year. The Center and states collected ₹1.68 trillion in GST in April last year, the highest ever under the indirect tax system till March this year. According to the Finance Ministry, on April 20 this year, revenue collection reached a new high of ₹68,228 crore in 980,000 transactions.
