Gudi Padwa is a Hindu festival that marks the beginning of the traditional new year in Maharashtra. It is celebrated on the first day of the Hindu month of Chaitra, which corresponds to March and April on the Gregorian calendar. This year, according to the Marathi calendar, Gudi Padwa will be celebrated on March 22.

In the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the new year will be celebrated on the same day as Ugadi while in Karnataka it will be celebrated as Ugadi.

Navaratri, a nine-day festival dedicated to Goddess Durga, is widely celebrated twice a year across India. As per the Hindu calendar, Sharad Navratri is celebrated in the Hindu month of Ashwin (September–October) while Vasant Navratri or Chaitra Navratri is celebrated in the month of Chaitra (March–April). According to Drik Panchang, this year this festival will start from March 22 and end on March 30. The Ghatasthapana Puja Vidhi marks the beginning of the nine-day festival.
