Students of KLE Society’s Jagadguru Totadarya College, Gadag-Betageri have attempted to create a new Guinness World Record in “Constant Wheel-Style Skip by a Jodi”.

In a record attempt made on Thursday, Aakash B Jogaraddy and Shravankumar Kindri, postgraduate students of English literature, were able to achieve 5024 skips within 40 minutes and 20 seconds.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the current record is held by a Japanese duo Yue Okamoto and Norihisa Taguchi, who achieved 1,559 skips on 14 November 2019 in Asaka, Saitama, Japan. Akash and Shravankumar were able to achieve in their record attempt. Skips which are almost three times the earlier record. The principal of the college, Prof. P.G. According to Patil, an attempt was made to set the record as per the rules and regulations of Guinness World Records. The two witnesses were Vijaykumar Naik, a fitness trainer from Bagalkot and Srinivas Gulagandi, a physical teacher at CBSE School Gadag. Congratulating the students after the successful record attempt, Prof. PG Patil stressed on the need of physical fitness among the students and asked the students to take active part in sports and extra-curricular activities.
