Gujarat Election 2022: Congress in-charge Himanshu Vyas joins BJP

Since the announcement of the dates for the 2022 assembly elections in Gujarat, the political heat is increasing in the state. Overseas Congress secretary and in-charge Himanshu Vyas on Saturday resigned from his post and primary membership of the party to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

He submitted his resignation in a letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. “I resign from the post of Secretary, All India Congress Committee and in-charge of Overseas Congress. I have also resigned from the primary membership of the party.”

The news of Himanshu Vyas’s resignation came amid the claim of former Congress leader Jaynarayan Vyas. Gujarat The minister and veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader who resigned from the BJP on Saturday will join the old party.

“I have been actively serving the BJP for the last three decades as per the ideology of the party. I am resigning from the party today due to personal reasons,” Jaynarayan Vyas said in his resignation letter to state BJP president CR Patil.

“Vyas, who helped the BJP to form a party in the state, is being ignored by that party. He had recently met Soniaji, Gehlotji and Gujarat. Congress In-charge Raghu Sharma,” the party’s state unit president. Congress president Jagdish Thakor said, “We will wait for him to take a decision on whether he will join the Congress.”

The Congress on Friday announced its list of 43 candidates for the elections to be held on December 1 and 5. The party has fielded Rajya Sabha MP Ami Yagnik from Ghatlodia constituency, which is currently represented by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

The Congress currently has only one of the 43 seats on which it had announced its candidates. Jhalod (ST) in Dahod district is currently occupied by Congress MLA Bhaveshbhai Katara, but the party has not fielded him again and has given ticket to Mitesh Garasiya.
