Gujarat Election: Rahul Gandhi to address rallies in Surat, Rajkot tomorrow

Amidst the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will visit Gujarat tomorrow, Monday, November 21 and address public rallies in Rajkot and Surat ahead of the upcoming elections. assembly elections Congress MP KC Venugopal said on Saturday that it is going to happen in two phases in early December.

According to news agency ANI, Venugopal was responding to questions by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma about Rahul Gandhi’s absence from campaigning in Gujarat.

The Congress MP, speaking about public meetings in Gujarat, replied, “He (Rahul Gandhi) will go to Gujarat on November 21. He will go to Rajkot and Surat to hold public rallies.”

He also hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for targeting the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Venugopal said that the 3,500-km padyatra led by Rahul Gandhi has been targeted by the ruling BJP because it is troubling them, so it is a sign of great success.

The Congress MP further said, “Bharat Jodo Yatra has received unprecedented acceptance from people cutting across the boundaries of politics, caste and religion”, as reported by ANI.

It is noteworthy that Rahul Gandhi’s Gujarat public meeting was confirmed by Rajasthan Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasara during a press conference on 9 November.

“During the visit, Rahul Gandhi will also participate in the party’s campaign for the Gujarat Assembly elections”, Govind Singh Dotasara said during the presser, reported ANI.

Currently, the Bharat Jodo Yatra is in its Maharashtra phase. Before entering Maharashtra, the yatra has already covered parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Elections to the 182-member state assembly will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5. The counting of votes will take place on December 8. The party has already announced its list of star campaigners for the Gujarat elections.

The Congress party has announced its list of 179 candidates for the elections to the 182-member Gujarat Assembly.
