Gujarat: Senior police officers from Ahmedabad have dinner with tribal students who were attacked by police

Senior police officers in Ahmedabad dined with tribal students from Dahod, Gujarat, who were attacked by police for taking admission in the college. He also arranged food for the students and had food with them. He presented flowers to the students and wished them a bright future.

The students were on their way to Gandhinagar for college admission when the police stopped them and thrashed them with plastic pipes. The police also took six thousand rupees from him.

A senior police officer said, “We have registered a case against the four cops under relevant sections of the IPC and the Atrocities Act. The matter was transferred to the SC/ST cell of Ahmedabad Police and all the policemen have been arrested. Further action will be taken against the police.”

how did the incident happen

On Wednesday morning, a family along with some students was going from Dahod to Gandhinagar. He was going to the Sahajanand School of Achiever in Chiloda to take admission in the college.

When they were passing through Odhav, the police stopped them at a checkpoint. The Odhav Police and Home Guard deployed on the spot asked all the students to get down from the vehicle. The students had all the necessary documents.

However, the police started assaulting the students by slapping them and thrashing them with plastic pipes. He also demanded ten thousand rupees from the students. When the students said that they had only Rs 6000 with them, the police took the entire amount and let them go.

They were arrested on Thursday after a complaint was registered against all the police officers involved in the incident.
