  1. Khandvi
    Khandvi made with gram flour is one of the most loved Gujarati snacks. It is also known as Patuli or Dahiwadi. Khandvi is also a popular snack in Maharashtrian cuisine. You can temper the breakfast with mustard seeds, coconut and curry leaves. Serve it with hot tea.
  2. Dhokla
    It would be a shame to cook Gujarati food and not include Dhokla. The soft and spongy dhokla cannot be missed on any ground. This Gujarati snack is loved all over the country and is prepared in many different ways. Dhoklas are not only tasty but also healthy. It is usually made with gram flour, but you can also make it with oats and ragi. Choose a tadka of colored chilies to enhance the taste.

    This thin and delicious Indian bread is made from whole wheat flour, kneaded with fenugreek, herbs, chilies, yogurt and sugar. They taste best when served with tea.
  4. handvo
    This salty tea-cake is soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Handvo is made by mixing bottle gourd with buttermilk, flour, coriander, chilli, lentils and rice, so it is healthy. This recipe is made in just 30 minutes, so you can serve it with chutney of your choice.
  5. Mango Shrikhand
    Shrikhand is a simple, soothing and luscious Gujarati sweet made from hung curd. Mango with Shrikhand is just a mouth-watering combination. You can also make a plain shrikhand, which is full of rich, creamy flavour, and sprinkle cardamom powder over it.
  6. Samosa
    Samosa is one of the most loved teas. Gujarati samosas are filled with a chunky filling of peas, which are toasted with sugar and lime juice. This spicy, tangy snack is popular not only in Gujarat but across the country and even beyond borders. You are free to experiment with the filling.
  7. Dal Dhokli
    Dal Dhokli is a comfort food popular in Gujarat and Rajasthan. Spicy whole wheat dumplings that have been steamed into a vibrant curry. The ingredients of the curry include toovar dal, garlic, groundnut, kokum and turmeric.

    Doodhpak or you can call it rice pudding. The desert is nutritious as it is a mixture of milk and rice. Cardamom and saffron add flavor and aroma to the dish. To make it look attractive, it is decorated with almonds.
  9. carpenter
    This traditional dessert consists of shredded flaky rice flour that is roasted in ghee. Sugar is added to make sweet cotton candy. Use chopped pistachios and almonds for garnish. You can also add cardamom to this dish to enhance the taste.
  10. shakarpara / saltpara
    This addictive snack is often made during Diwali and is very easy to make. Usually people make heaps of namakpare and half of them are coated with sugar. It is an age-old snack that is eaten throughout the year in some households.
