The FTC was hearing a petition Vishwa Vedic Sanatan Sangh (VVSS) Right to worship the alleged ‘Shivling’ found in the Vashikaran Talab of Gyanvapi Masjid during a Court Commission survey on 16 May and to ban the entry of Muslims in Gyanvapi premises.
VVSS, which is supporting the plaintiff no. 1 case no. 18/2022 Rakhi Singh v State of U.P. and others, seeking the right to daily worship of Shringar Gauri and other deities in the Gyanvapi Masjid premises after the discovery of ‘Shivling’ had filed another petition along with the above arguments.
Additional District Public Prosecutor (Civil) Sulabh Prakash said the FTC would continue hearing in the matter on Thursday. “AIM is challenging the sustainability of the petition seeking a ban on entry of Muslims into the Gyanvapi mosque, handing over the Gyanvapi complex to Hindus and allowing regular worship of Lord Adi Visheshwara,” he said.
AIM’s lawyer Akhlaq Ahmed said, “On the issue of jurisdiction of Waqf property, we mentioned in the court that the petition can be heard only in Waqf Tribunal as Gyanvapi Masjid is a Waqf property.”
In this case Kiran Singh, wife of VVSS chief Jitendra Singh Visen, is the plaintiff.
