Hours after Selena Gomez spoke out in support of Hailey Bieber in the wake of death threats she received, Hailey penned a thank you note for Selena.
In a lengthy post shared to Instagram Story, Hailey wrote, “I want to thank Selena for speaking up, as she and I have been discussing for the past few weeks how to take this ongoing story between her and me forward.” be extended.”
Justin Bieber’s wife continued, “The past few weeks have been very difficult for everyone involved and millions of people seeing so much hate around it is extremely hurtful. While social media is an incredible way to connect and build community It’s only moments like this that create more division than bring people together.”
Hailey concluded by saying, “In the end, I believe love will always be greater than hate and negativity, and there is always an opportunity to meet each other with more empathy and compassion.”
On Friday, Selena shared a message on Instagram after learning about the heavy criticism Hailey was receiving. “Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know she’s been getting death threats and such hateful negativity. This is not what I stand for. No one should feel hated or bullied. I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop,” Selena urged her fans and followers. Selena also started following Hailey on Instagram in a show of support.
This isn’t the first time Selena has tried to shut fans down from Hailey’s sleuthing, though it is the first time she’s explicitly mentioned Hailey by name. On March 6, she thanked fans for their support on her TikTok and said, “Please, please be kind and considerate of others’ mental health. My heart is heavy, and I only wish well for everyone.” All my love.”
Reportedly, the feud between Hailey and Selena started after the Rode Skin founder bullied the “Heart Wants What It Wants” singer online. A few months back, Hailey posted and then deleted a video where she, Kendall Jenner, and Justine Skye mouthed the audio, “I’m not saying she deserved it, but God’s timing is always right. “
TikTok users speculated that Hailey was referring to Gomez, who responded at the time by simply being fat. The beef between the two celebrities dates back to 2018 when Hailey Bieber got engaged to Justin Bieber, whom he dated for eight years, just months after ending his relationship with Selena.
