Halloween 2021: Zomato’s “Shortest Horror Stories” Is Winning The Internet

Brands often rely on humor to connect with social media users and what better opportunity than a popular holiday to do so? It is Halloween and Zomato is celebrating the occasion in its own unique way. The food aggregator app puts a spooky spin on seemingly innocuous statements that have the potential to scare the daylight of anyone alive. Are you wondering what we are talking about? Zomato has grabbed the attention of followers with a witty Instagram post titled “The Shortest Horror Stories”. The post – centered around regular food discussions – features six “horror stories” that are quirky, and brimming with dark humor.

The first story reads, “A loud scream woke her up – the tea is getting cold.” Haven’t we all gone there? That scream is enough to send a chill down our spine.

The second is around ketchup. It read, “Alone at home on full moon night. He mixed ketchup in Maggi.”

Often, what does your mom say when you order food that can be a bit pricey? Exactly about this is the third story – “Eyes wide, he saw his child.”These are made at home (It could have been made at home).”

Some social media users get our goat for expressing their date of birth in the most annoying of ways. Zomato made good use of it in the fourth story. It shows a man holding a knife to resemble a killer and the text reads, “My crush’s IG bio says – cake slayer!”

The next read, “She leaned closer and whispered – what are you eating alone (What are you eating alone).”

In the final story, the text says, “With a devilish smile, he spoke words that terrify every soul – I’ll pet you later!” Well, it’s more often than not related because, we all know, tomorrow – in this case, later – never comes.

Lastly, Zomato attached a funny note from its “illustrator” which read, “6 posts is enough, I can’t do 10 at such short notice, our illustrator replied.”
