Hanuman Chalisa Row: BJP leader Kirit Somaiya accuses ‘Uddhav Thackeray’s goons’ of attacking outside Khar police station

Amid the raging Hanuman Chalisa controversy in Maharashtra in which Independent Maharashtra MP Navneet Rana and her husband MLA Ravi Rana were arrested on Saturday, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya alleged that Shiv Sena workers created ruckus and stone pelting outside Khar police station. He got injured after doing it.

Kirit Somaiya posted a video on Twitter, in which he was seen injured, sitting inside his car with broken windows.

“Police let goons of CM Uddhav Thackeray to gather in Khar PS. When I came out, the goons started pelting stones and broke the window of my car, I also got hurt. The matter is under police surveillance,” he wrote.

A few hours before this, Somaiya had said that he would go to Khar police station to meet Ravi Rana and Navneet Rana. Somaiya had said, ‘Let’s see who stops me.

“Those who were protesting at Navneet Rana’s house today are not Shiv Sainiks, they are goons. The end of this government has come, people here will expose the scam.

Navneet Rana and Ravi Rana courted a major controversy on Saturday when they said that they would recite Hanuman Chalisa outside Matoshree, CM Uddhav Thackeray’s residence. He later scrapped his plan citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Mumbai.
