Dambulla ,Sri Lanka): Captain of Indian women’s team Harmanpreet Kaur beat the former captain on Saturday Mithali Raj To become India’s leading T20I run-scorer.
Harmanpreet achieved this feat during the second T20I against Sri Lanka in which she remained unbeaten on 31. He now has 2,372 runs in 123 matches at an average of 26.65 with one century and six half-centuries.
Harmanpreet made a record 16 days after Mithali’s retirement.
Mithali scored 2,364 runs in 89 T20Is at an average of 37.52 with 17 half-centuries.
Harmanpreet played the captain’s innings in the second T20I of the three-match series against Sri Lanka at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Saturday and her 31 runs helped India win a five-wicket haul.
With this win, India won the series 2-0.
Chasing 126, Smriti Mandhana (39) and Shafali Verma (17) put on a 30-run partnership to get India off to a great start. Since then India did not look back and won by five wickets with five balls to spare.
