Miyazaki is a common ruby in color and is mainly grown in Japan.
It is mango season and industrialist Harsh Goenka has posted a picture of one of the most expensive varieties of the fruit. It refers to Miyazaki, a mango variety grown primarily in Japan. The crop is very rare in India and the growers have to make elaborate security arrangements. As highlighted by Mr. Goenka in his tweet.

Parihar, a farmer in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, used three security guards to secure two trees. And 6 dogs have been hired, the chairman of RPG Group said in his tweet.

It is one of the most expensive fruits in the whole world. Last year, if not the price-“Common“The (not-so-mango) fruit went up to Rs 2.70 lakh per kg.
According to a report in news agency ANI, Mr. Parihar found a Miyazaki plant from a person during a train journey. Little did the couple know that there would be ruby-colored Japanese mangoes on the tree.
Miyazaki mangoes are often referred to as “Eggs of Sunshine” (Taiyo-no-tamago in Japanese) due to their shape and vivid red color.
Miyazaki mangoes get their name from the city in Japan where they are grown. On an average, a mango weighs around 350 grams. Rich in antioxidants, beta-carotene and folic acid, mangoes are grown during the peak harvest season between April and August.
According to the Japanese Trade Promotion Center, miyazaki is a type of “Irwin” mango that is distinct from the yellow “pelican mango” that is widely grown in Southeast Asia.
Miyazaki’s mangoes are shipped throughout Japan, and their production volume is second only to Okinawa in Japan.
Local news reports stated that mango production in Miyazaki began in the late 70s and early 80s. The city’s warm weather, prolonged sunshine and plentiful rain made it possible for Miyazaki’s farmers to switch to mango cultivation, the report said. It is now the main produce here.
