Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal holds a meeting with Ambassadors of India to seven countries

According to an official statement, Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal held a meeting with India’s envoys to seven countries in Chandigarh on October 18 to attract foreign investments and explore the possibilities of mutual cooperation in various fields.

Mr. Kaushal apprised the ambassadors about the investment-friendly policies of Haryana, its agro and food processing industries, skill development and logistics facilities etc.

Pradeep Kumar Yadav, Ambassador of India to Liberia; Ram Karan Verma, Ambassador to the Congo; Pradeep Kumar Rawat, Ambassador to China; Nina Malhotra, Ambassador to Italy; Yogeshwar Sangwan, Ambassador to Paraguay; Pooja Kapoor, Ambassador to Denmark; and India’s High Commissioner to Zambia Ashok Kumar attended the meeting.

The envoys in the meeting appreciated the investment friendly policies and unique initiatives taken by the Haryana Government.

He also shared his experiences during his visit to Gurugram and Aspirational District Nuh on Monday and gave suggestions regarding implementation of the schemes and policies of the State Government.

According to the statement, Mr. Kaushal informed the envoys that despite having only 1.34% of the country’s total geographical area and 2.09% of the population, Haryana contributes 4% to the country’s GDP.

“Investment of $5.22 billion has come to Haryana since the year 2019. Under the able leadership of Chief Minister Manohar Lal, Haryana has taken several initiatives through e-governance, which has brought transparency in ensuring benefits of citizen centric schemes.” Mr. Kaushal told the messengers.

The Chief Secretary said that Haryana is today a leading state in the fields of Automotive, IT, ITeS, Textiles and Apparel, Agriculture and Food Processing, Logistics and Warehousing.

He said that the State Government has formulated a new policy to develop Haryana as an electric vehicle hub.

Shri Kaushal said that the State Government has implemented the ‘Mera Pani Meri Virasat’ scheme, realizing the need for water conservation.

Water conservation is one of the top priorities of the state government. Apart from this, crop diversification is also being promoted in the state and farmers are also being made aware to adopt crop diversification, he said, for this various incentives are being given.

He said, “Many policies made by the Haryana government have not only been appreciated at the Centre, but other states are also studying the schemes being run by Haryana.”

Shri Kaushal said that the contribution of agriculture and allied sectors in the state’s economy is 17%, while the contribution of service and industrial sectors is 47% and 36% respectively.

He said, “In the year 2021-22, Haryana has exported goods worth $28.9 billion. These mainly include rice, IT, handloom and handicrafts, automobiles and metal goods, machinery and parts, medicines and pharmaceuticals products. “

The Chief Secretary said that the state ranks third in the country in terms of promotion and development of MSME sector.
