Haryana imposes new COVID restrictions: Government offices to operate at 50% capacity

The Haryana government on Tuesday announced further restrictions in view of the rise in COVID-19 cases in the state. As per the new directive, government offices have to function at 50% capacity.

The guidelines mention that all officers of the level of Under Secretary, equivalent and above have to attend the office regularly. The physical presence of government employees below the level of Under Secretary will be limited to 50 per cent of the actual strength and the remaining 50 per cent will have to work from home.

It has also been notified that those who are not coming to the office should be available on telephone and other electronic means of communication.

Persons with disabilities and pregnant women employees will be exempted from coming to office, but they are required to work from home, the directive said and added, “All officers residing in containment zones shall remain in office till Will be exempted from coming, unless the containment zone is denotified. ,

Meetings shall, as far as possible, be conducted by video-conferencing and personal meetings with the visitors, unless absolutely necessary in the public interest, it said, also said

The matter of regulating the attendance of State Government employees has been reviewed and it has been decided that all Government Offices/Departments etc. shall observe the following preventive measures with immediate effect till January 20.

Notably, amid the rise in COVID-19 cases in Haryana, the authorities on January 1 closed cinema halls, multiplexes and sports complexes in five districts of Ambala, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Panchkula and Sonepat from January 2 to 12. was ordered to close. In these five districts, malls and markets were allowed to open only till 5 pm during this period.
