A decision in this regard was taken during the second meeting of the Board of Directors presided over by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday.
The Chief Minister was apprised that Haryana was the first state to form a separate corporation to expedite the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) powered governance application. “This is a unique start in the state because now with the help of drones, the extent of the area can be traced as well as illegal encroachments can be controlled as earlier manual surveys were conducted at regular intervals which were very time consuming, were expensive and required more manpower,” Khattar said.
While directing the concerned officers to ensure speedy disposal of various types of survey and imaging work, the Chief Minister said that apart from the Revenue Department, the use of drones should also be ensured in other departments like Urban Local Bodies, Power, Disaster Management, Mining, Forests. . traffic, town and country planning, agriculture, etc., as it will help in urban areas mapping, land records, disaster management and emergency services, development planning.
The Chief Minister was also apprised about the procurement of drones in different categories and different sensors. It was told that the procurement has been delayed due to the ban on import of drones from abroad.
Chief Secretary, Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Chief Secretary, Electricity Department, PK Das, Principal Secretary, Urban Local Bodies Department, Arun Gupta, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, V. Umashankar, Managing Director, Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, Vikas Gupta TL Satyaprakash, CEO, Drone Imaging & Information Systems, Haryana Limited (VISION) and other senior officials were also present on the occasion. Additional Chief Secretary Chill Aviation Department, Sudhir Rajpal also attended the meeting through video conferencing.
