HBO Max has announced that a This Prequel series, tentatively titled welcome to dairy, is in the works. It has also been confirmed that Andy Muschietti, who directed both This And This: Chapter Twowould return to direct several episodes of the series.

In a statement released by the producers, Musiatis said, “As teenagers, we took turns reading Stephen King’s chapters. This until the thick paperback falls to pieces. It’s an epic story involving a lot of people that we can find in our IT movies. We can’t wait to share the depth of Steve’s novel, its heart, humor, humanity and terror.
“I’m excited that the story of Derry, Maine’s most haunted town, continues, and I’m delighted that Andy Muschietti will be overseeing the spooky festivities, with a trust of brains including his talented sister, Barbara,” said King. “Red balloons all around!”
