In a mega-merger, HDFC Limited will merge with HDFC Bank. HDFC Bank Board has approved the amalgamation of HDFC Investments and HDFC Holdings with HDFC and HDFC into HDFC Bank. According to sources, for every 25 shares of HDFC, 42 shares of HDFC Bank will be given under the merger. Post the merger, which will require around 12 to 15 months, 100 per cent of HDFC Bank will be held by public shareholders and existing shareholders of HDFC will hold 41 per cent of HDFC Bank.
