Health Ministry cautions against laxity with rising COVID-19 cases

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan on Tuesday wrote to Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Maharashtra and Mizoram cautioning against any laxity with the COVID-19 positivity rate and the current rise in cases reported by them.

The ministry has said that there is a need to continuously monitor the spread of infection and take steps for quick and effective management of COVID-19.

“The laxity at any stage can nullify the gains made so far in pandemic management. Regular monitoring and prompt follow-up is critical in emerging areas of concern. The Health Ministry will continue to provide the requisite support to the states in this ongoing and collective effort.”
