Heavy rain in the rural areas of Salem

Salem received 24.80 cm of rain in the last 24 hours, which ended at 7 am on Sunday.

It rained heavily in many parts of the district on Saturday, while it rained in rural areas.

However, there was only light rain in the city. Due to incessant rains in the district for three days, excess water from the Andipatti lake entered the adjoining houses on Sunday. In rural areas like Thalaivasal, Viraganoor and Gangavalli, rain water flooded several acres of farmland.

The average rainfall in Salem district was 15.50 mm, and Thammampatti received the highest rainfall of 48.2 mm, followed by Gangavalli 44.4 mm, Viraganoor 32 mm, Attur 30 mm, Kariyakovil 24 mm, Pethanaikenapalayam 23 mm, 13 mm . Anamaduvu, Sankagiri received 7.3 mm, Yercaud 7.2 mm, Mettur 5.5 mm, Edappadi 5.4 mm, Salem 5 mm and Kadayampatti 3 mm.

Namakkal district received 6.98 cm (average rainfall 5.80 mm), of which Rasipuram received 18.20 mm, Mangalapuram 12 mm, Komarapalayam 10.60 mm, Puduchhatram 8 mm, Paramathi Velur and Kolli Hills Semedu received 5 mm, 4 mm of rain. 3 mm each in Namakkal, Senthamangalam, and 2 mm each in Tiruchengode and Collectorate.

Dharmapuri district received 10.62 cm (average 15.17 mm) of rain, including Marandahalli 22 mm, Hogenakkal 20.80 mm, Penagaram 18 mm, Palakode 16.40 mm, Harur 14 mm, Pappireddipatti 10 mm and Dharmapuri 5 mm . ,
