Heavy rains lashed Rajkot city and adjoining areas from afternoon till evening. Heavy rains were also recorded in Gondal town and adjoining villages as well as in Jetpur and Dhoraji taluks of Rajkot.
Due to the rains, many areas of the city were waterlogged during peak hours, resulting in traffic jam at Indira Circle of 150 ft Ring Road. Ramapir ChokdiMadhapar Quartet, Yagnik Road, Jawahar Road and Dhebar Road. There was knee-deep water in Gondal’s Nani Bazar during the pilgrimage. VeerpurRoads were also flooded. Heavy rains lashed Bhavnagar city, where Gujarat’s second largest Rath Yatra was taken out. It started raining after 3 pm, resulting in waterlogging on Rath Yatra routes like Nilambagh circle, Nirmalnagar, Panwadi and other low-lying areas.
Jamjodhpur and Lalpur talukas of Jamnagar and Babra, Rajula, Jaffrabad and Savarkundla of Amreli are also in the grip of rain.
