This advanced feature helps you keep track of your child’s activities like new followers, account settings, screen time and blocked accounts on the app. This will work only after taking the consent of both the parents and the child or adolescent. If taken care of, it can help you keep your baby safe from any potential danger.

This feature is available if your child is between the ages of 13 or 17 and both the parent and child have the updated Instagram app.

Here are the steps you can take to set up parental supervision on Instagram:

1: Open Instagram on your smartphone.

2: Tap on your profile picture in the lower right corner.

3: Tap on the hamburger icon in the top right corner.

4: Tap on the Supervision button.

5: Now, tap on Create Invitation.

6: Once you follow step 6, you will have to tap on Create Invitation again and send the invite link to your teen through a third party app like WhatsApp. Only one person can monitor an account.

7: After you send the link and your teen accepts it, you can start monitoring your teen’s account.

It is important to note that this feature is only for teenagers or people between the ages of 13 and 17. Remember that supervision does not mean that your parent or supervisor will be able to see your search or messaging activity.
