Here’s How SBI’s WhatsApp Banking Services Work

Now you can check your account balance and mini statement with State Bank of India (SBI) through WhatsApp. SBI has announced that it is now on WhatsApp and encourages customers to avail these services. Not only this, SBI is also offering WhatsApp services on its credit cards where customers can get important updates about their cards through the messaging app. However, before opting for these services, the customer needs to be registered. Make sure your current mobile phone number is linked to your SBI account for seamless WhatsApp banking.

SBI said through its Twitter account, “Your bank is now operational” WhatsApp, Know your account balance and view mini statement on the go.

To select service through State Bank Of India WhatsApp Banking, the account holder has to register himself first.

For registration, the account holder should send an SMS to 7208933148 with the text ‘WAREG’ and their account number with space between them. It needs to be noted that you need to send SMS through your registered mobile number with SBI account. After completing the registration process, you will receive a message on your WhatsApp number from SBI’s 90226 90226 number.

You can simply send ‘Hi SBI’ to 90226 90226 or reply to the WhatsApp message you just received and follow the instructions to avail SBI services.

A bank account holder can enjoy services like account balance, mini statement and de-register from WhatsApp Banking.

Also, SBI Card, the largest public sector bank, is offering WhatsApp banking to customers with credit cards under WhatsApp Connect. A cardholder can view account summary, reward points, outstanding balance, card payments and much more on WhatsApp services. Currently, the WhatsApp service of SBI Card is available only for SBI credit cardholders.

Here’s how to subscribe to SBI Card’s WhatsApp Connect!

– Save the number 9004022022 and type ‘OPTIN’

– Give a missed call to 08080945040 from your registered mobile number

– SBI Card Mobile App: Log in to the mobile app, click ‘WhatsApp Connect’ in the main menu to subscribe to WhatsApp

SBI Card Website: Click Here, Login & Subscribe.

Ask ILA: Click here, log in and subscribe.

– SMS: Message WAOPTIN XXXX to 5676791, where XXXX is the last 4 digits of your card number.

Under WhatsApp Connect of SBI Card, no additional charges are levied for using this service. Anyone can resubscribe to the WhatsApp Service by initiating an opt-in request.
