Hero Electric to deploy a fleet of 4,000 electric two-wheelers for last mile deliveries

Hero Electric, India’s leading Electric Vehicle (EV) company, has announced a partnership with Battlewheels Mobility, a Gurugram-based start-up that provides last mile delivery mobility solutions to e-commerce and hyper-local grocery companies. In partnership with BatWheelz Mobility, Hero Electric will deliver 4,000 electric two-wheelers by FY 2022-23. According to Hero Electric, the company’s partnership with the last mile delivery segment in the country will enable faster EV transition in India. Hero Electric is India’s largest selling EV brand, and now has a market share of 36 per cent.

Hero Electric CEO Sohinder Gill says that the company’s electric two-wheelers are flexible, modular and versatile, offering longer mileage, smoother rides and lower cost of ownership.

Hero Electric currently has a market share of over 36 per cent.

The last-mile delivery segment is one of the fastest growing destinations with increasing penetration of online and e-commerce businesses. Hero is entering into multiple partnerships to supply electric scooters to transform the electric segment and address last-mile logistics and delivery challenges. According to Hero Electric, the company wants to shift 35 per cent of its sales from the B2B (business to business) segment in the next four years.
