Hero MotoCorp registers 12% growth in April, sells 418,622 units – Times of India

Hero MotoCorp on Sunday said that it sold 418,622 motorcycles and scooters in the Indian market in April 2022. The company recorded a growth of 12.4% last month as compared to the same month a year ago. The two-wheeler maker sold 372,285 units in April 2021.
Hero MotoCorp sold 392,627 motorcycles in April 2022, a growth of 15.7 per cent over the same month last year. The scooter saw a decline of 21.12% in sales as it stood at 25,995 units as against 32,856 units in April 2021.
In terms of domestic sales, Hero MotoCorp registered sales of 398,490 units, a growth of 16.3 per cent as compared to 342,614 units in the same period last year. The export figure for April 2022 stood at 20,132 units as against 29,671 units in April 2021.

The company says the overall sales growth last month was due to the gradual opening up of the economy and continued policy support from the government. Further, it also claims that the April sales volumes indicate a steady improvement in consumer sentiments.
Meanwhile, in the month of April, Hero MotoCorp collaborated with Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) for “Project Jeevika” to train and train two wheeler market technicians across the country on BS-VI technology.
Hero MotoCorp recently launched the Destini 125 XTEC at a price of Rs.69,900 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The top variant sells for Rs 79,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The scooter continues to use a 125cc, single-cylinder motor that produces 9bhp and 10.4Nm of torque.
