The short term training course on preventive maintenance and repair of two wheelers will enable the candidates to develop relevant skills on futuristic vehicles like EV/HEV.

Hero Motocorp and Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) have joined hands to develop a comprehensive two-wheeler short-term training course, Two-Wheeler Preventive Maintenance and Repair. Using the material provided by Hero MotoCorp, ASDC will provide a variety of learning modules and certifications in Automotive Servicing. Through this programme, ASDC will enhance its competence and capabilities in faculty training as well as curriculum building to meet global standards, said a joint statement by ASDC and Hero MotoCorp. The course is approved by the National Council of Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), the apex regulator in the Apprenticeship Portal.

The short term course is designed with 63 days of theory and practical.

Two wheeler preventive maintenance and repair program for 63 days theory and practical at approved skill development center has been prepared. This will be followed by 14 days of ‘on the job training’ at authorized two wheeler service centres.

Commenting on this initiative, Vinod Agarwal, Chairman, ASDC said, “We are extremely happy to partner with Hero MotoCorp, as it will allow us to reach out to a larger number of youth, who may be skilled and subsequently in the industry. MOTOCORP’s partnership with Hero ASDC will further enhance the programme, develop new training curriculum curricula and future-proof trainers and students, in consultation with experts from the automotive industry and academia. According to the statement, both ASDC and Hero MotoCorp will focus on bridging the supply gap of skilled workers in the automotive industry and helping it meet the manpower requirement across the country. The program will enable all candidates to develop relevant skills on future vehicles such as Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs), the statement said.
