Accepting the petition, a division bench of Justice Sandeep Mehta and Justice Vinod Kumar Bharwani has issued notices to the Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary (Women and Child Development) seeking their reply within 14 days as to why contempt action is not taken against them.
Petitioner Prasad had filed a petition in the High Court wherein the post of the Chairman of the Commission is lying vacant since January 2019, and the posts of three members of the Commission are lying vacant since November 2019, and hence, presently the Commission is not functioning. .
