Hinduja Group Chairman SP Hinduja passed away in London

Srichand Parmanand Hinduja, the eldest of the four Hinduja brothers and chairman of the Hinduja Group, passed away in London on Wednesday. He was unwell for some time. He was 87 years old.

A spokesperson for the family said, “It is with great sadness that Gopichand, Prakash, Ashok and the entire Hinduja family announce the passing of our family patriarch and Hinduja Group Chairman Mr. SP Hinduja today.”

Srichand Hinduja, affectionately known as ‘SP’ among his business associates and friends, was the eldest son of PD Hinduja, the founder of the Hinduja Group. SP was the head of the Hinduja family and chairman of the Hinduja Group and Charitable Foundation.

After completing his education in 1952, SP joined his father in the family business.

Led by his vision and leadership, SP, along with his brothers, Gopichand, Prakash and Ashok Hinduja, envisioned and strategized the diversification and expansion of the Hinduja Group.

Years of business experience in free market as well as protected economies in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas shaped SP’s fundamental belief that a free market economy can improve tolerance and understanding between different people and cultures, Which will benefit mankind.
