Hindustani singer Prabha Atre honored with Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia Lifetime Achievement Award

Hindustani singer Padma Vibhushan Dr. Prabha Atre was on Sunday honored with the Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia Lifetime Achievement Award by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

The Chief Minister honored Dr. Atre at a function at Ram Ganesh Gadkari Rangayatan in Thane.

Mr. Shinde presented a citation and ₹1 lakh to Dr. Atre at the event, during which a symphony of 90 flute players was performed to mark his 90th birthday.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Shinde said that his government is committed to promote art and will also promote classical music.
