According to sources, a fire broke out in a private restaurant located at Rajguru Market on Tuesday morning. Several restaurant employees were sleeping on the terrace when the fire broke out. According to eyewitnesses, when fire tenders reached the spot, the gas cylinder installed in the restaurant also exploded, after which the fire spread to nearby shops. During this, some employees saved their lives by jumping on the roof of adjoining shops. fire brigade officer Ishwar Singh He said that he received information at 6 am that a multi-storey building in Rajguru Market had caught fire. At present, the cause of the fire is believed to be a short circuit in the electrical wiring. When the kitchen caught fire, the gas cylinder kept there also caught fire. After this, two cylinders exploded and caught fire, which also hit nearby shops.
Naveen Kumar, a shopkeeper at Rajguru Market, said around 16 people were sleeping on the terrace of the restaurant at the time of the accident, out of which one died due to burns. The rest saved their lives by jumping on the nearby shops.
SP Lokendra Singh Said that at present no case has been registered in this incident. If any negligence is found, action will be taken as per law, he added.
