Hockey India announces annual cash incentive for Indian men’s and women’s team for every win

As per the policy, Hockey India will give a cash prize of Rs 50,000 annually to the playing members of both men’s and women’s teams and Rs 25,000 to the support staff for each win in the register of Indian teams.

The governing body announced Rs 2 lakh for each player of the Indian junior men’s team and Rs 1 lakh for each of the support staff after the title win in the 10th Sultan of Johor Cup.

Terming it as a historic decision, Hockey India General Secretary Bholanath Singh said, it will not only inculcate the spirit of working harder for the Indian teams to win, but will also give the young aspiring hockey players the belief that hockey can be financially viable. . Play

India beat Spain 3-1 in a shoot-out to level both the teams 2-2 in their FIH Pro League match here on Sunday.

Overall, India did well in the FIH Pro League, with the men’s team winning both their matches against New Zealand and ending their engagement with Spain 1-1 in Bhubaneswar.

India are currently at the top of the points table in the FIH Pro League with 8 points from 4 matches.

India will host the 2023 Men’s Hockey World Cup in Bhubaneswar from January 13 to 29.
