Holiday in stock market: BSE, NSE will remain closed today

Holiday in stock market: Trading on BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) and NSE (National Stock Exchange) will remain closed today due to Ganesh Chaturthi festival being celebrated across the country. As per the Stock Market Holiday 2021 list available on the official website of BSE – bseindia.com, there will be no action in the equity, derivatives and SLB segments. Those working in the stock market will have an extended week as the stock market is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Trading in the Commodity segment will remain suspended from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the morning session but will remain open from 5:00 PM in the evening session.

Ganesh Chaturthi is the only stock market holiday falling in the month of September as the next holiday falls on 15th October 2021 for Dussehra festival followed by Diwali festival on 4th November 2021.

Trading on both NSE and BSE will remain suspended today after a gap of less than a month as the last stock market holiday on 19 August 2021 fell for Muharram.

The Indian stock market was closed for maximum number of days in April this year, when trading in BSE and NSE was suspended on April 2 for Good Friday, April 14 for Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti and April 21 for Ram Navami celebrations. .
