Holiday in stock market: There will be no movement in the stock market today due to the festival of Holi across the country. Trading on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will remain suspended for the entire session on Friday, 18 March 2022. As per the Stock Market Holiday 2022 List which is available on the official website of BSE – bseindia.com. There will be no action in Equity Segment, Equity Derivatives Segment and SLB Segment today.

Trading in the Commodity segment will remain suspended from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the morning session but will remain open from 5:00 PM in the evening session.

This is the second stock market holiday to fall in March 2022. Before Holi, the stock market was closed for the Mahashivratri festival on 1 March 2022. There will be no other festival in March this year as the next business holiday in India falls on 14th April 2022.

There will be two stock market holidays in April 2022. Those two stock market holidays are falling on 14th April 2022 and 15th April 2022. On 14th April 2022, the stock market will be closed for Mahavir Jayanti / Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti. Trading on NSE and BSE will be closed for Good Friday, 15 April 2022.

Trading in BSE and NSE will now resume on Monday as the next two days are Saturday and Sunday. Last week, the Indian secondary market made a positive start and crossed the 16,800 barrier on Monday. After some modest profit-booking in the middle of the week, the index resumed momentum and ended around the 17,000 mark ahead of the Fed event. The resistance was broken with a gap up opening which led to wider participation and Nifty ended the short week below 17,300 with a weekly gain of around 4 per cent. The BSE Sensex also rose about 4.15 per cent this week and closed at 57,863 levels. The Nifty Bank index closed at 36,428 with a weekly gain of 5.44 per cent.
