Holiday in stock market: There will be no action on Dalal Street on Tuesday due to Guru Nanak Jayanti celebrations falling on 8th November 2022. Trading on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will remain suspended for the entire session on Tuesday, 8 November 2022.

Trading in the Commodity segment will remain suspended from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in the morning session, but will remain open till 5:00 pm in the evening session.

It will be the last day of Guru Nanak Jayanti at Dalal Street. Last month in October, trading on BSE and NSE was closed on three occasions, namely Dussehra, Diwali and Diwali Balipratipada. The stock market was closed on 5 October 2022 for Dussehra festival while there was no regular session on 24 October 2022 due to Diwali festival. However, on 24 October 2022, there was a special Muhurta trading session for one hour from 6:15 PM to 7:15 PM. The stock market was closed on 26 October 2022 as well as on 26 October 2022 for Diwali Balipratipada. As per the list of stock market holidays 2022, the total number of stock holidays on Dalal Street notified on BSE is 16 and Guru Nanak Jayanti is the 16th stock market holiday. 2022.

However, trading on BSE and NSE will resume as per its normal timings on Wednesday.

In Friday’s session last week, the Indian stock market ended on a higher note following positive news inflows from China. NSE Nifty closed 64 points higher at 18,117 while BSE Sensex closed 113 points higher at 60,950. However, the Nifty Bank index fell 39 points to close at 41,258. The small-cap index outperformed the Nifty with a gain of 0.41 per cent, while the forward decline ratio rose to 1.41:1. Among the sectors, metal and oil and gas index were the biggest gainers, while healthcare and IT were the biggest losers.
