The naturally aspirated, four-cylinder Atkinson cycle engine is capable of producing 98 PS of power and 127 Nm of torque. In combination with the electric motor, the car makes 126 PS of power and 253 Nm of torque. Leveraging the hybrid technology, Honda claims that the City Hybrid will deliver an average return of 26.5 kmpl. The powertrain is mated to an eCVT automatic gearbox. Electricity generated by the two e-motors and onboard brake regeneration is used for propulsion and stored in a rear-mounted battery pack. With a 40-litre fuel tank, the Hybrid City has an effective range of 1,000+ kms on a full tank. Honda is offering a 3-year unlimited warranty on the car and an 8-year limited warranty on the lithium-ion battery pack.

The automaker has also introduced Honda Sensing – ADAS features in the City e:HEV. The car is now equipped with Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Collision Mitigation Braking, Automatic High Beam, Adaptive Cruise Control and more. Honda also announced that autonomous technology will be seen on all future launches in India.
Honda Sensing – ADAS
The bookings for Honda City e: HEV ZX variant have started from April 14, the ex-showroom prices of the sedan will be shared later. The car will be launched and sales will start in early May 2022.
On the exterior, the car remains identical to its ICE counterpart with the exception of the E:HEV Hybrid badge, new fog lamp garnish and the rear diffuser that differentiates the vehicle from the standard model. The interiors continue to feature the dual-tone scheme. An 8-inch touchscreen with auto-hold, digital instrument cluster, 6 airbags, sunroof and electronic parking brake will be on offer.
Only one variant: ZX
