Hope political stability returns to Bihar: Prashant Kishor on JDU-RJD reunion

The sudden political developments in Bihar in the last few days have thrown politicians off their sleep and on August 10, well-known election strategist Prashant Kishor is hopeful that political stability may return to the state.

Expressing his opinion on the turn of events, Kishor said, “I hope that now political stability will return to #Bihar. Nitish Kumar has said that he is starting a new chapter. I hope that he is the leader of Bihar. Will fulfill the aspirations of the people.”

Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar is likely to take oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar again on Wednesday, while Tejashwi Yadav will become the Deputy CM. This will be his eighth time that Kumar will take oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar.

In 2020, Kumar took oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the seventh time with the support of the BJP. In the elections, the NDA won a majority of 125 seats in the 243-seat strong Bihar Assembly, of which the BJP won 74 seats, the JD(U) 43, while the other two NDA constituents won eight. Won victory. On the other hand, RJD emerged as the single largest party with 75 seats, while Congress won only 19 out of 70 seats.

Kumar ended his alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party-led (BJP) National Democratic Alliance and rejoined the RJD on a day of rapidly changing political developments in Bihar. Seven parties, including 164 MLAs, including independent MLAs in our grand alliance, said Nitish Kumar in a joint press with RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav after meeting the Bihar governor.

Kumar submitted his resignation as the chief minister leading the NDA alliance to Governor Fagu Chauhan on 9 August. Along with this, a list of 164 MLAs was also submitted as supporters. The effective strength of the state assembly is 242 and the magic figure is 122.
