“Horrible, not good for cricket”: Australia Great Slam India for ‘pathetic’ act in Nagpur | cricket news

In the first Test of the 4-match series in Nagpur, the Australian cricket team had to face a crushing defeat at the hands of India. After losing the match by an innings and 132 runs, the tourists came out with a plan which they had to practice on the central wicket in Nagpur after the match was over within 3 days. However, his plans did not materialize as the pitch was watered down by the ground staff. Australia Great Ian HealyHowever, this act of India was termed as ‘pathetic’.

Speaking to SEN, according to news.com.auasked the ICC to intervene, alleging that Australia’s efforts to practice on Nagpur’s old pitch were “harassed” by the hosts.

“It’s really a shame that our plans to have some practice sessions on that wicket in Nagpur were foiled,” Healy said.

“It’s not good, it’s just not good for cricket. The ICC needs to step in here.

“For him to water the wicket when requested for practice was terrible and needs to be improved,” he added.

The Nagpur pitch has been a talking point in the series since the beginning and even after the match ended, it seems not much has changed.

Earlier, some Australian journalists and former cricketers had accused the Indians of ‘doctoring’ the pitch to suit their needs. In the match, India posted a mammoth score of 400 runs in the first innings, while Australia could not even come close to the target in two innings.

With the second Test in New Delhi, the pitch is expected to favor the spinners once again. Australia, who haven’t played a single warm-up match on the tour, have been practicing on their own but their plans seem to be backfired at the moment.
