Netizens apparently found their “spirit animal” in Chinese.

A horse named Sugar has gone viral on the internet for pretending to sleep when he doesn’t feel like working.

Jim Rose shared a photo of Sugar on Twitter, resting on her side in the grass as if taking a snooze. The caption of the post read, “Meet Sugar, she doesn’t like to ride. If Sugar is approached with a saddle she lies down and pretends to be asleep. Sugar refuses to open her eyes when until the riders leave.”

Since being shared, the post has taken the internet by storm. It has garnered over 476,000 likes and over 41,000 retweets. Netizens apparently found their “spirit animal” in Chinese.

While one user wrote, “sugar is my soul,” another said, “me in form of a horse, to be honest.” “Smart horse,” wrote the third. “Nice horse. I wish it worked in my office. I don’t like riding either,” added the fourth.

A concerned user even thought Sugar was dead. “Omg I want him to wake up like that’s not bad for horses wtf I’ve never seen a horse lying down. I thought they didn’t unless they were literally dying. Wow,” wrote the user.

However, according to horse enthusiasts, horses actually lie down to sleep. separately, New York PostSusan Hazel, animal behavior expert, pointed out that the tendency is more common for the species during periods of excessive sleep.
