How this Indian drone startup is helping to overcome connectivity barriers

The Indian healthcare sector, which carries the burden of the country’s 1.3 billion population, is growing at an exponential growth rate. Of this, 70 percent of the population is concentrated in rural areas where only 3 percent of the country’s doctors reside. Considering the facilities, a large part of the rural population lives in mountainous and remote areas without access to primary or basic healthcare.

On top of this chronic lack of access to critical health care items, the logistics sector is fraught with constraints of its own. Poor road conditions, inadequate supply chains, poor product visibility and tracking are compounding the lack of healthcare in inaccessible areas. Amidst the current scenario that is taking a toll on the lives of countless people, TechEagle – India’s leading and leading manufacturer of long range, high speed, heavy payload delivery drone solutions is bridging connectivity barriers and providing access to urgent healthcare supplies and services. Delay in access. sector by creating an on-demand drone logistics airline.

Enabling rapid health care outcomes

Today, transportation is considered one of the biggest barriers to the lack of health care. On the one hand, telemedicine is playing an important role in connecting doctors with patients located far away. However, on the other hand, the issues of sample collection for timely diagnosis and availability of medicine/vaccine/blood remain unresolved due to slow and improper ground logistics.

Given the difficulties, TechEagle harnesses the benefits of on-demand drone delivery to collect test samples and deliver them to Path Labs rapidly. The startup reduces the turn-around time from 3-5 days to 6-7 hours by strengthening the logistics network. Additionally, it brings faster results and quicker diagnosis to enable doctors to make breakthrough progress and save countless lives lost due to delays.

For years, hard-to-reach populations have been facing barriers to access to health care. Keeping in mind the gaps in the Indian healthcare landscape, TechEagle has endeavored to remove barriers to healthcare logistics by reaching remote and inaccessible areas such as hills, forests and valleys. It makes timely delivery of health supplies within hours as compared to several days.

Bringing Transformational Drone Delivery Airline

Recently, TechEagle partnered with the Government of Meghalaya, India’s first hybrid e-VTOL (Vertical Take-off and Landing) drone delivery of life-saving drugs. It successfully loaded its state-of-the-art e-VTOL drone AquilaX2 with medical essentials to take off from Nongstoin District Hospital like a helicopter. Upon reaching mission altitude, it automatically switched to fixed-wing (passenger aircraft-like) mode, providing an aerial distance of 25 km at a speed of 90 kmph to reach the Mawet PHC (Primary Health Center). where it automatically switches itself back to rotary-wing mode to land vertically like a helicopter, handing the box to a doctor in the center.

By road, it takes around 4 hours to reach Mavet PHC so it is practically impossible to supply any vital medicine, blood, vaccine or anti venom within the first golden hour of the patient. But with TechEagle’s drone it was taken down in under 25 minutes, which is 10X faster than traditional means of transportation.

In addition, TechEagle also partnered with the Telangana government to supply vaccines and medicines to the state. Its drones carried the vaccines from the distribution center to the primary health center (PHC) in temperature controlled boxes and collected samples on the return flight.

Commenting on the technology front, Vikram Singh Meena, Founder and CEO, TechEagle said, “Safety and safety are of paramount importance to the firm. We have built drones with precise navigation, detection and rescue for manned and unmanned aviation, and redundant security layers. Thus, our drones are capable of safe and reliable BVLOS (out of sight) flights for package delivery.”
