To start the recipe, first of all finely chop the onion, apply salt and keep it aside for 10 minutes. Squeeze out the water completely and deep-fry in oil till it turns golden. Keep them aside on kitchen absorbent paper. Marinate the chicken with the ingredients mentioned under Marination. Keep covered for 2 hours.

Now wash the rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes. Soak saffron strands in hot milk to extract its color and taste. Prepare a bouquet of the whole spices mentioned in a muslin cloth. Tie it like a small bundle. Place a bay leaf at the bottom of an empty handi. Now, place the marinated chicken and make sure you spread it evenly.
