Firstly wash and soak the moong dal for 20 minutes. Wash it thoroughly, add fresh water to a pan and let it come to a boil. Add turmeric and boil till cooked. Drain the dal and add fresh water to cool it. Heat canola oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and fry. Add chopped onion, green chilli and ginger. Fry the onion till it turns light brown. Now add lentils, red chili powder, coriander powder and salt to it. Cook for 3-4 minutes. Add coriander leaves, chaat masala and lemon juice. Stir and remove from fire. allow to cool.
