The video was shared on Instagram reels by UK blogger @washy_wash_cleantok and has gone viral in no time. Since being posted it has garnered over 8.2 million views and 108k likes.

In the clip, the blogger reveals an easy trick to destroy cooking oil. He simply mixed soda bicarbonate or baking soda in a pan with used cooking oil. This changed the nature of the oil and turned it into a solid pulp that could be thrown away by mashing it together. The blogger suggested using baking paper for this purpose. He also said that this hack was better than the insert used cooking oil down the drain and clog it. “Don’t pour used cooking oil down your drain. Try this easy hack. Add soda bicarbonate or soda crystals, mix it all together and pack in baking paper,” the blogger wrote in her caption.
