Hubli: Artists engaged in making idols for Ganesh festival are engaged in making different types of idols with different themes. Most of the artists are making Ganesh idols including late actor Puneet Prince,
Vijay Kumar Kamble, bommapur oni, Hubli, has paid tribute to the actor through his idols. He has created 300 sculptures along with 10 special sculptures. There is a huge demand for these unique sculptures as many organizations are placing orders for them.
Every Ganesh festival is different, and the idols are made with hundreds of themes. Later Puneet Rajkumar’s death, fans across the state are paying various tributes. For this year, artists are creating special sculptures to pay tribute to the actor.
Most of the fans have decided to keep the idols in their homes and public places. There is a lot of demand for the fans of Puneet Rajkumar. Many artists in the Twin Cities are making such Ganesh idols with different themes for this upcoming festival.
Artist Vijay Kumar Kamble told TOI, “We have started making the idols three months back. Till now, around 300 idols have been made. It takes two to three days to make clay Ganesh idols while the special one takes four to four days. Five days are required. Puneet themes Ganesha. This year the idol is special. We will pay tribute to the actor through these idols.”
“Initially, we made 10 Ganesh idols with Puneet. As per the demand we will make more of them by the last moment of the festival. Puneet Rajkumar’s fans want to have such an idol for this year’s festival. There is a demand for other Ganesh idols as well. This year’s high,” he said.
Raju Gobargumpi, a fan of Puneet Rajkumar from Hubli, said, “For the first time we have decided to have a Ganesh idol, in which Puneet Rajkumar will also pay tribute to the actor. We plan to have Puneet’s idol with Ganesh. To pay our respect and rich tribute to the contribution to the state through social work and his films.”
